About the project

Samsung SDS, the ICT and digital transformation arm of the Samsung Group, has been steadily expanding its global operations and technological capabilities. In 2020, as part of its strategic focus on building a robust SAP development center in Vietnam, Samsung SDS began searching for a reliable local partner with the ability to deliver SAP technical resources at scale and with quality. The goal was to quickly establish a long-term talent pipeline that could meet the company’s growing needs for SAP services - particularly in ABAP development, BW, and BASIS support.

Set up Offshore Delivery Center

The Challenge

The project presented three major challenges: securing a large volume of qualified SAP technical consultants, ensuring resource quality through certification and hands-on experience, and drastically reducing the turnaround time for onboarding new hires.
With a limited pool of local SAP talents and increasing competition in the market, Samsung needed a partner capable of innovating the recruitment process and delivering results quickly and sustainably.

The Solution

CMC Consulting, leveraging its deep SAP expertise and strong strategic relationship with Samsung, was selected as the exclusive partner to establish an Offshore Delivery Center for Samsung SDS in Vietnam.
Our approach focused on setting up an SAP Technical Academy in Hanoi, designed to transform traditional recruitment into a streamlined talent development pipeline.
CMC restructured the end-to-end process - from sourcing and evaluation to onboarding and integration - tailored to meet Samsung's specific SAP technical standards.
Over the course of the engagement, we successfully built a core team of 10+ SAP consultants specializing in ABAP, BW, and BASIS, ensuring consistent delivery capacity and long-term team stability.

Benefits

The results were substantial. By 2021, CMC had fulfilled nearly 90% of Samsung SDS’s hiring KPIs.

More importantly, we helped reduce SAP hiring time and associated costs by up to 50%, enabling Samsung SDS to scale their Vietnam delivery center with agility and confidence.

Through this collaboration, CMC Consulting not only met Samsung’s technical resource needs but also laid the foundation for a sustainable and efficient SAP talent ecosystem in Vietnam.
